Paul is a recent graduate from the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University where he studied Economics and Social Innovation. This year, Paul was named National Student Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist and Runner Up by the Entrepreneurs Organization and Enactus Canada, respectively for his work in aquaponics and the community. 

 

Kiefer MacKenzie

Kiefer is an engineer who has dedicated his personal and professional life to improving the sustainability of our built environment. He has led the way on sustainable design, construction, and operation of buildings and infrastructure throughout the City of Calgary.

Having earned his bachelors degree in Structural & Civil / Environmental Engineering, Kiefer is now pursuing a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and Green Energy Technologies.

Kiefer believes healthy food should be available locally and affordably, while it's production and distribution should have a neutral or net positive impact on the environment. He is dedicated to making this a reality at Deepwater Farms.

Mauricio Bustamante

Mauricio is a mechanical engineer who has focused his career on reducing the carbon impact of buildings and infrastructure in Ontario and Alberta.

Having earned his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mauricio is now pursuing a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and Green Energy Technologies.

Mauricio is passionate about reducing the energy inputs for food production and expanding the variety of locally grown food in challenging climates so that people everywhere can have access to a healthy lifestyle.
